PATTAYA, Thailand – A severe collision between a sedan and a 22-wheeler truck left a female driver critically injured on May 23, 2025, at 5:06 PM. The accident occurred on Highway 36, Pattaya-Rayong Bypass, inbound towards Pattaya.
The Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a distress call and promptly coordinated with Nong Prue Police Station. Rescue volunteers and medical teams rushed to the scene, where they found a heavily damaged white Toyota Altis sedan, registered in Bangkok. The vehicle had been struck by a 22-wheeler truck belonging to Phongphakit Transport Co., Ltd., with Chonburi license plates. The truck, carrying rolls of plastic, sustained minor front-end damage.
Inside the mangled sedan, rescuers found Ms. Supawadee Kaikrathok, 44, in critical condition. Emergency teams used hydraulic tools to extricate her from the wreckage, administered CPR to stabilize her, and rushed her to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
The truck driver, Mr. Apinan Suesuk, 32, stated that he was driving straight when the sedan suddenly made a U-turn in front of him, leaving him no time to brake. The collision caused the car to skid off the road. Upon noticing the trapped driver, he immediately alerted rescue services.
Nong Prue Police investigators attended the scene, documented evidence, and collected photographs. They plan to review CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further investigations are ongoing.
