PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 19th, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, Ms. Kesara Khanlaem, a 31-year-old transgender woman, approached local media with clear CCTV footage showing the face of a thief who stole from her apartment. The incident occurred on May 14th, 2025, at around 6:56 PM while Ms. Kesara was asleep in her room at P&Y Apartment, located in South Pattaya.
Ms. Kesara reported that an unidentified Thai woman entered her room during her sleep, stealing a gold necklace and 1,000 baht in cash before fleeing. Upon waking and discovering the theft, Ms. Kesara reviewed the building’s CCTV footage with the property owner. The footage revealed a Thai woman, not a resident of the building, entering during rainfall and attempting to open multiple apartment doors. Ms. Kesara’s door, which had a faulty lock, was easily opened with force, allowing the thief to enter unnoticed while she slept.
“I didn’t hear the door being opened,” Ms. Kesara explained. “The thief took my belongings and disappeared. These items were hard-earned, and I want them back.”
Ms. Kesara filed a police report at Pattaya City Police Station on the day of the incident. However, with no progress in the case after several days, she turned to the media to urge authorities to track down the suspect and recover her stolen property. She also called on the public to report any sightings of the suspect, as seen in the CCTV footage, to the nearest police station for legal action.
Police are continuing their investigation, and authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward to assist in apprehending the culprit.
