Concerns Rise Over Homeless Mans Behavior Near Schools and Government Offices in Pattaya

PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 19th, 2025, residents in Banglamung District, Chonburi Province, raised alarms over a homeless man, estimated to be around 50 years old, who has been seen walking naked in public areas near Banglamung School, Pattaya City School 2, and government offices. Locals provided video evidence of the behavior, expressing fears for the safety of students and tourists.

Local journalists investigated the area, which includes schools, tourist attractions, and government buildings. Mornings and afternoons see heavy foot traffic from students waiting for transport or parents, while tourists frequently pass through the area.

A local vendor, who requested anonymity, shared that the man has exhibited this behavior for some time. He is often seen either completely naked or wearing donated clothing, such as shorts or long pants, and speaks incoherently.
“Some days he walks around naked, and sometimes he even defecates on the roadside without regard for the location. This is right near schools with lots of students. Authorities need to step in before something bad happens,” the vendor said.

Residents are urgently calling on relevant agencies, including the municipality, public health officials, and police, to investigate and address the situation to ensure the safety of children and preserve Pattaya’s reputation as a world class, family friendly, tourist destination.
