PATTAYA, Thailand – On the morning of May 15th, 2025, Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngampichet led a workshop to educate hoteliers, restaurant operators, and other local business owners on environmentally friendly and health-conscious practices. The event, held at Meeting Room 401 of Pattaya City Hall, was attended by city executives, representatives from local businesses, community members, and relevant officials.
Organized by Pattaya’s Public Health and Environment Office, the initiative, dubbed “Fry, Don’t Dump; Don’t Reuse,” aims to raise awareness among consumers and business operators about the dangers of reusing cooking oil and the importance of reducing carbon emissions.
The program promotes safe, healthy, and eco-friendly tourism practices to position Pattaya as a sustainable tourism destination. Target groups include local communities, businesses, educational institutions, officials, and guest speakers.
Mayor Poramese made clear the city’s commitment to the project, presenting certificates to restaurants and organizations that participated in the 2024 “Fry, Don’t Dump” campaign.
He expressed gratitude to public and private sector partners for their work, highlighting their role in preventing improper waste disposal, which harms both the environment and public health. The initiative aligns with the city’s “Pattaya Go Green” and “Better Pattaya” policies, aiming to enhance residents’ quality of life and ensure a sustainable future for Pattaya’s environment and tourism industry.
