PRESS RELEASE:
Bangkok is preparing to host its annual Pride Parade on June 1, celebrating gender diversity and promoting LGBTQIAN+ rights, under the theme “Born This Way.” The parade will travel from Thephasadin Stadium to Ratchaprasong Intersection on Rama 1 Road, concluding with performances and activities at CentralWorld Square. Organizers describe the event as a platform for raising awareness, encouraging acceptance, and creating an inclusive space for all.
Individuals, community groups, and businesses are invited to register online to join the parade and show their support. Participants can select from several themed sections, each representing different aspects of identity and inclusion. Volunteers are also being recruited to assist with logistics, safety, and event management throughout the day.
Participation has increased steadily, with a 20 percent rise in 2023, and the 2024 event is recognized as Thailand’s largest diversity celebration. Organizers view this year’s parade as a step forward from the achievement of marriage equality toward broader recognition of all identities. The parade will feature activities along the route at locations including MBK Center, Siam Discovery, and Wat Pathum Wanaram.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with registration in the late morning. The parade begins at 4 p.m. and is expected to reach CentralWorld around 7 p.m., where the program includes a Mor Lam concert and cultural performances. Medical support stations will be available along the route for public safety.
Bangkok Pride continues to gain international recognition, drawing support from foreign embassies and attention from the global media. Those interested in participating or supporting can contact the organizers at partnership@bangkokpride.org, festival@bangkokpride.org, or follow updates on official Bangkok Pride social media channels.
