PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 17th, 2025, Jomtien Beach in Pattaya came alive with the “Rally Sailboat Festival – Amazing Thailand Grand Year 2025.” The event, held by the Dvaree Hotel and YaiMak Market, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Phongthasit Pijanant, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province.

The grand opening was officiated by Mr. Krisada Tanthetthit, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Sakon Pholluk-in, Deputy Mayor of Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, and Mr. Wutthithon Saeng-urai, a member of Pattaya City Council, alongside government officials, private sector representatives, locals, and tourists.

Mr. Kraisorn Chatralekhanich, President of the Chonburi Chamber of Commerce, highlighted that the festival, a group effort between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand, Pattaya City, and the Chonburi Chamber of Commerce, aims to promote sports tourism. The event seeks to elevate water sports to international standards and position Thailand’s beaches as premier destinations for seaside sports activities.
The festival featured thrilling competitions, including sailboat rallies, kitesurfing, and wing foiling, showcasing creativity and skill. Athletes navigated natural winds and waves, demonstrating strength, equipment control, and weather-reading expertise.

Beyond the races, the event offered a range of activities for attendees. Professional instructors guided participants in a sailing clinic, while children enjoyed a dedicated activity zone. Exhibitions traced the history and evolution of sailing, kitesurfing, and wing foiling in Thailand. Local food and drink stalls, alongside community products and Chonburi’s OTOP (One Tambon One Product) offerings, added to the festive atmosphere. Live music and concerts also took place.
The Rally Sailboat Festival continues all day today, Sunday, May 18th and admission is free on Jomtien Beach. Enjoy the photos, all taken by Adam Judd for The Pattaya News.
