Violent Clash in Pattaya Sparks Chaos: Eight People Arrested After Brawl Escalates to Stabbing, Shooting, and Bomb Throwing, Killing One Person

Pattaya, Thailand – A violent clash that began with a brawl between two rival groups escalated into a deadly confrontation involving stabbings, shootings, and bomb throwing, leaving one person dead and two others injured. The incident, which occurred at 12:30 AM on May 23rd, 2025, on Nongprue Road near a pork and chicken shop in Moo 3, has now led to the arrest of eight suspects. We covered the original story HERE.

Newly obtained video footage from the night of May 21st, 2025—just one day before the deadly incident—reveals the initial altercation between the groups, which set off the chain of events. According to reports, the groups arranged a meeting to negotiate and apologize, as evidenced by chat messages. However, tensions flared when male companions of both sides became involved, leading to a violent confrontation.
CCTV footage captured one suspect riding a motorcycle, circling back, and firing a single shot at a sedan belonging to the opposing group at 12:11 AM. Fortunately, no one was struck by the bullet. The situation escalated further when two Cambodian nationals, identified as 19-year-old Mr. Tan and 19-year-old Mr. Nat, chased down the victims, Mr. Tee (injured) and Mr. Sattawat Parapim (deceased), on a motorcycle. The suspects allegedly slashed the victims’ arms with a knife, causing their motorcycle to crash into a parked SUV. Another suspect, 19-year-old Mr. Phattharawong Khieokaeo, alias “Way,” fired a homemade shotgun at the rival group to aid his friends’ escape. The suspects then fled the scene.

Following an investigation, Colonel Natthaphon Phongsooksakul, Superintendent of Nongprue Police Station, along with Deputy Superintendent Lieutenant Colonel Thana Wisetschai and the investigation team, apprehended eight young men involved in the incident. Police seized a homemade shotgun, a knife, and an improvised explosive device. The suspects were taken to Nongprue Police Station for questioning.
All eight confessed to their involvement, admitting they had accompanied several women to “keep the peace” during the planned discussion. However, a confrontation erupted with the opposing group. Mr. Tan and Mr. Nat admitted to chasing and attacking the victims, while Mr. Phattharawong confessed to firing the shotgun to help his friends escape after their group was overpowered.
The suspects were taken to reenact the crime scene as part of the investigation. During this process, relatives and friends of the deceased gathered at the police station, shouting insults and creating a tense atmosphere. Police intervened to prevent further escalation.
Authorities are currently conducting detailed interrogations to determine the appropriate charges and proceed with legal action.
