PATTAYA, Thailand – On May 23rd, 2025, at 5:36 p.m., an ambulance from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation in Pattaya was obstructed by a motorcyclist while rushing a critically injured patient to Pattaya Hospital. The patient had sustained severe injuries from a fall, and the ambulance was navigating through Naklua Road when the incident occurred.

According to Mr. Kittichai Klaokasat, a rescue worker known by the call sign 4325 stationed at Nong Prue, the ambulance was operating with its emergency lights and sirens activated, requesting cooperation from other road users. Most vehicles cleared the way, but at the Dolphin Roundabout, a man estimated to be 40–45 years old riding a motorcycle swerved in front of the ambulance, blocking its path. The incident was captured on video as evidence.

Mr. Kittichai told The Pattaya News that the motorcyclist initially moved to the left after the ambulance honked and announced its urgency. However, the rider soon cut back in front of the vehicle, driving recklessly, weaving erratically, and performing dangerous stunts. Despite repeated warnings from the rescue team, who expressed the need to urgently deliver the patient to medical care, the motorcyclist continued to obstruct the ambulance.
Upon reaching the hospital access road, Mr. Kittichai confronted the rider, asking why he was obstructing the emergency vehicle. The motorcyclist responded aggressively, pointing at the rescue worker and appearing to want a confrontation. Mr. Kittichai threatened to call police if he wanted to escalate the situation, but the motorcyclist quickly fled the scene.

Speaking on behalf of the rescue team, Mr. Kittichai urged the public to understand the critical nature of their work. “Every second counts in saving a life. We never know how severe a patient’s condition is, so we ask for cooperation from all road users to clear the way when they see an ambulance with active sirens,” he said.

He stressed the importance of ensuring patients reach medical professionals as quickly as possible and pleaded for greater awareness to prevent such incidents in the future.

It’s unclear if law enforcement will locate the motorcycle rider for further legal action.
