Narathip Overthrows Incumbent, Secures Mayors Seat in Banglamung with Team Sweep

Pattaya, Thailand – On May 11th, 2025, at 5:00 PM, the polls closed for the Banglamung Municipal Election, marking the end of a heated race for mayor and municipal council members.

Voting began at 8:00 AM, with residents of Banglamung casting their ballots to choose between two mayoral candidates: Narathip Fakruek (No. 1) from the “We Love Banglamung” group and First Lieutenant Jarewat Chinawat (No. 2) from the “Banglamung Development” group. The election also included candidates for municipal council seats across two districts, with a total of 13 polling stations.

After a full vote count across all 13 stations, unofficial results confirmed a decisive victory for Narathip Fakruek, who secured 3,704 votes, defeating Jarewat Chinawat, who garnered 2,307 votes. Narathip’s “We Love Banglamung” group also dominated the municipal council races, winning all seats across both districts, outpacing candidates from the “Banglamung Development” group in a clean sweep.

The atmosphere outside the Banglamung Municipal Office was jubilant, with local merchants, residents, and business owners gathering to congratulate Narathip and his team. Supporters showered the winners with flowers, celebrating the group’s landslide victory.
In an emotional address, Narathip expressed his gratitude: “I’m overjoyed. We never expected such overwhelming support. I sincerely thank every voter for their trust in us.” When asked why he believed residents chose him, he pointed to his team’s genuine commitment: “It’s likely our policies and our heartfelt determination to serve the people. We hope to carry forward those promises.”

Discussing his plans pending official certification by the Election Commission, Narathip outlined a pragmatic approach: “We’ll start with low-budget projects that can be implemented quickly to directly benefit the community.” In a heartfelt message to voters, he added, “I deeply thank everyone who supported me and my team. We’re committed to working tirelessly, and I’ll do everything in my power to repay your trust.”
The victory marks a big shift in Banglamung’s leadership, with Narathip and his team poised to implement their vision for the municipality.
