Pattaya-

At 11:36 PM on May 27, 2025, Police Lieutenant Wuttinan Kongdee, an investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a brawl and property damage at the SWEET69 cannabis shop located in Soi Honey. After verifying the report, police patrol officers were promptly dispatched to the scene.

At the location, a group of Thai locals was found berating a foreign tourist of American nationality. The tourist was detained by bystanders and handed over to police after allegedly throwing a stone at the cannabis shop’s glass window, causing damage. The suspect sustained injuries to his face and lips. Both parties were brought to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning.

According to local witnesses, the American tourist entered the cannabis shop looking to buy a vape, but was told by the shop that they did not sell them as they are illegal in Thailand. The tourist became agitated and caused a scene, despite attempts by an unidentified friend to calm them down. The suspect then grabbed a stone and threw it at the shop’s glass window, shattering it. Outraged bystanders, unable to tolerate the behavior, physically confronted the tourist before helping to restrain them and notifying the authorities.
Initially, Police Lieutenant Wuttinan Kongdee collected evidence, including a video recorded by locals capturing the moment the tourist threw the stone, breaking the glass. The investigation will proceed with gathering further evidence to ensure fairness.

The tourist meanwhile, whose name was not released by police, claims he was physically assaulted and injured by the Thai bystanders who detained him and planned to press counter legal charges, without commenting on actions of reportedly damaging the shop.
