Pattaya, Thailand – A violent confrontation in the early hours of May 23rd, 2025, resulted in one fatality and two injuries on Nongprue Road near a pork and chicken shop in Moo 3. The incident, reported at 12:36 AM, prompted a quick response from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit and Nongprue Police Station officers, accompanied by The Pattaya News team.
At the scene, authorities discovered a damaged Honda Girano motorcycle overturned. A 15-year-old, identified only as Mr. Tee (alias), sustained severe cuts to his ankle from broken glass and was given first aid before being rushed to a local hospital. Another victim, Mr. Sattawat Parapim, 31, was critically injured and transported to a hospital by friends but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. A third individual, Mr. Akkaradet Preechamat, 18, was also injured. The assailants fled the scene before police arrived. Evidence at the site included a knife, scattered glass, and a damaged zinc fence struck by the motorcycle.
According to Mr. Phongthron, 19, who was visibly distraught, the conflict stemmed from a dispute over a woman. Previous attempts to resolve the issue had failed, leading to a planned meeting that the opposing group did not attend. As Mr. Phongthron’s group dispersed, the rivals, armed with a knife, gun, and homemade bomb, allegedly ambushed them. Mr. Sattawat lost control of his motorcycle, crashing into a parked car, and his body was thrown under the vehicle. The attackers continued their assault, attempting to shoot him, but Mr. Phongthron intervened, citing their acquaintance. The situation escalated when Mr. Sattawat’s brother, driving a bronze Honda Accord rammed into the assailants to disperse them, allowing the injured to be aided.
Mr. Yuphalap Sakunasin, 32, the driver of the Accord, confirmed he was part of the deceased’s group and had arranged to settle the dispute. As they left, the opposing group chased them on motorcycles, brandishing a gun. Mr. Yuphalap urged his group to flee and later found Mr. Sattawat injured under a vehicle, surrounded by attackers who prevented assistance and threatened further violence. He drove into the group to clear a path for rescuing the injured.
Ms. Saithan, 18, told The Pattaya News that the rival group had previously thrown a homemade bomb at her without causing injury. The planned apology meeting was canceled, but as her group left, the rivals pursued them, ordering them to stop. Ms. Saithan escaped, but Mr. Sattawat crashed into a parked car. The attackers attempted to stab her but missed.
CCTV footage partially captured the incident, showing Mr. Sattawat’s motorcycle being chased, losing control, and crashing into a parked car. A large group of youths, likely from both sides, engaged in a brawl. The Accord, driven by Mr. Yuphalap, then struck two fighting youths, damaging a nearby zinc fence and causing injuries.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Chay Sridamanee, the investigating officer, inspected the scene, collected evidence, and reviewed CCTV footage. The case was reported to Police Colonel Natthaphon Phongsuksakul, Nongprue Police Station chief. The investigation team has identified the fleeing suspects and is actively pursuing them for legal action.
