Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Visit Thailand, Announce Strategic Partnership

BANGKOK, May 17th, 2025 – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will embark on his first official visit to Thailand on Monday, marking the first trip by an Indonesian leader to the kingdom in 20 years. The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Thailand, two key Southeast Asian nations.

During the visit, President Prabowo will hold talks with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to unveil a new Strategic Partnership aimed at deepening bilateral ties. The agreement is expected to enhance cooperation in trade, security, and cultural exchanges, strengthening the longstanding relationship between Jakarta and Bangkok.

The visit shows both leaders’ commitment to regional stability and economic partnership within ASEAN. Further details of the partnership will be announced following their meeting.
