Thai PM to Visit UK and Monaco This Week

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and her delegation are scheduled to visit the United Kingdom and Monaco from the 21st to the 25th of May 2025 to create business opportunities and increase the value to Thai products in European markets through Soft Power promotion in food, sports, and tourism.

During her visit to the U.K., the Prime Minister will:
• Chair the opening ceremony of the new version of the “Thai SELECT” logo.
• Meet with the U.K.’s largest food importers and representatives from the Association of Thai Businesses in the U.K. to expand markets and increase the value of Thai food products, especially vegetables, fruits, and Hom Mali Rice sold in the U.K. and Europe.
• Present Thai SELECT certificates to 115 restaurants that meet its standards.
• Attend the in-store promotion of Thai food products in Wing Yip Superstore (Cricklewood branch).
• Visit a famous Muaythai camp in the U.K.

While in Monaco, the Prime Minister will:
• Have a meeting with Formula One (F1) executives to study the feasibility of having Thailand host F1 races.

Thai SELECT is a mark of certification awarded by the Ministry of Commerce to guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products and Thai restaurants in Thailand and overseas. Currently, over 170 restaurants in 22 countries and over 960 products from 108 companies have received the THAI SELECT certificates.
