PGS Charity Work

Since January 2011 the Pattaya Golf Society has been proud to support

The Fr. Ray Foundation Outreach Center

as its adopted Charity. Once each month a charity team event is organised to raise funds for the project which "rescues" and teaches streetkids basic life skills at its project in south Pattaya. In addition the Society's Annual "major" event, the PGS Team Scramble is held each year to raise as much as possible for the cause. It is the newest of the projects begun by Fr. Ray Brennan, a Redemptorist priest, back in the early seventies, when his care and love saw him found the Pattaya Orphanage. The Fr. Ray Foundation now runs the centre, along with its other wonderful projects, including the Vocational School for the Handicapped, the Redemptorist Blind School, the Redemptorist Deaf School, the Children's Village and the Stateless Old Persons Home. Magnificent work!

On Thursday, 22nd November 2013 John Mason, Leigh Abbey and Mr Len met with Fr. Michael Picharn, Director of the Fr. Ray Foundation in Pattaya, to discuss PGS policy for our Charity work next year and, following a visit to the Foundation Outreach Center on Soi Thapprasit, it was decided to target our funding towards the building of a security wall to give the kids and staff greater security. Over 600 metres of wall need to be built and we embarked on our "Brick in the Wall" campaign at the start of 2013.
